Why Wero is important to you

Wero is the official successor to iDEAL and will become the standard for direct bank payments throughout Europe. It offers the same speed and convenience you are accustomed to, but on an international scale. Its introduction is proceeding rapidly:

• From 2026, the Wero logo will appear alongside iDEAL.
• Already active in Belgium, Germany, and France
• Managed by the European Payments Initiative (EPI), a collaboration of 15+ major European banks.

Your guests will continue to pay without any problems

Dutch and Belgian consumers who currently use iDEAL and Bancontact will hardly notice any difference. Because the switch will take place entirely behind the scenes, you will not need to change any settings.

Smart alternative to Giropay & Payconiq

The German payment method Giropay and the Belgian Payconiq have now been discontinued. Since then, PayPal has become more popular. Wero offers an alternative, with greater convenience.
